IPL 2024: BCCI could move second 50% of the series to another nation, says report

The second 50% of the Indian Chief Association (IPL) may be moved to the UAE and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is exploring the chance of organizing it, a Seasons of India report refered to. The move comes as the Lok Sabha election 2024 is probably going to be held around a similar time.

However the authority dates are yet to be reported, it is normal to be conducted in April and May. The Election Commission is supposed to report the date of the elections on Saturday, March 16.

BCCI official said, as cited by TOI, “The Election Commission of India will report the election plan on Saturday at 3 pm. From that point forward, the BCCI will conclude whether ought to be moved to Dubai. At present, a couple of top BCCI authorities are in Dubai to investigate the chance of organizing the second 50% of the IPL in Dubai.”

In the mean time, it is broadly detailed that some IPL groups have gathered players’ travel papers as a precaution for expected relocation during general elections. Nonetheless, BCCI maintains IPL will remain in India.

During the Coronavirus flare-up, IPL was held in the UAE. The games were played across three scenes – Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

The seventeenth season of the Indian Chief Association (IPL) will begin on March 22, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) set to conflict with Regal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a South Indian derby at their home field – Mama Chidambaram Arena.
